Sagem Orga has begun a strategic partnership with the BlueSky Positioning for the integration of Assisted-GPS (A-GPS) technology in the SIM cards for mobile phones. The company believes that the provision of GPS technology on SIM cards would provide relatively inexpensive market for local service providers and more customers. The A-GPS SIM exploits a major technology breakthrough made by BlueSky Positioning, including a proprietary In-SIM antenna (patents pending).

This will allow mobile operators to use the commercial applications on all mobile devices and no need to replace the software or hardware devices. In future, these SIM cards will become a daily thing. The primary purpose of A-GPS SIM is to provide accurate positioning information of the phone with A-GPS SIM to let the cellular network operators provide emergency services.
