Apple, Inc. revealed the long awaited “new iPad” during a Keynote by CEO Tim Cook on March 07, 2012. Tim announced about it, and the SVP of marketing, Phil Schiller presented the technical specification of new iPad.

What is New in “new iPad”?

A ultra-high-resolution retina display, which clocks in at 2,048 x 1,536 pixels with a million more pixels than a 1080p HDTV. The screen has 44% better color saturation.

A quad-core A5X GPU chip which is actually a Duel Core processing unit, and its processing speed is between 1.0 to 1.5 GHz.

A better camera with same lens which apple introduced in iPhone 4s,  iPad’s camera to capture 5-megapixel still pictures and 1080p video (at 30 frames per second), The backside-illuminated sensor, large f/2.4 aperture and automatic image stabilization will improve the quality of photos and videos, especially in low light. However, the front-facing camera is remaining at VGA resolution.

4G LTE network support for high speed data connectivity in few models.

Another exciting feature in new iPad is Dictation, Apple added a dictation option, accessible via a dedicated button on the virtual keyboard. You can use the new dictation feature to send a text message, search the web or write a note by just speaking in the mic of your new iPad. Apple says it’ll even work with third-party apps, letting you tweet or post to Facebook just by speaking the words.

New iPad has been Upgraded to Bluetooth 4.0, which is helpful in a number of ways. It has ability to work with the new low-powered Bluetooth devices, it will allow accessories manufacturers to build things like keyboards that you won’t need to recharge for months or even years. Bluetooth 4.0 will also let the iPad interact with wearable devices like medical sensors, gathering data like heartbeat or blood sugar level and relaying it to medical personnel when needed. Which is a going to be a great help in future for developers to develop Apps for medical and health care professionals.

As the new iPad require much more power to be consumed by its “retina display” and 4G/LTE connectivity features, it has been equipped with a high power 42.5 watt-hours battery, which provides the same battery life with new features as the previous models does.
