Google rolled out a new sign-in page to selected target audiance, with a similar look of other latest Google Products Interfaces. you can preview this new sign-in page by clicking on a link “Preview it” in a tip box just above the copyrights information on existing google sigin-in page.
This is an effort to make all google product interfaces more similar for visitors. This is a part of larger redesign of Google products, which it has outlined in its Changes to the sign-in page of Google Products page. And in June this year Chris W
iggins, Google’s Creative Director for Digital, said in a blog post:
“We’re working on a project to bring you a new and improved Google experience, and over the next few months, you’ll continue to see more updates to our look and feel.”
If you select the new interface then the sign-in pages for all the google products and services will also change. However you can get back to the older version of the sign-in page by clicking the link at the bottom of the new sign-in page. On the new sign-in page, the input boxes are bigger. It can show 31 characters in the username field whereas the old sign in page displays only 20 characters in the username field. google products, google new interface, new google sigin page, also the “create an account” box feature formerly below the sign-in box has been removed in this new sign-in page. Instead, a red-coloured button with a white-couloured inscribed text: ‘CREATE AN ACCOUNT’ now sits on the top right corner of the new Gmail sign-in page.
